Photo Motion Lab is published by MomentumLab AI Pty Ltd, a small Australian software studio that builds and runs its own apps. One of them is AI Video, the app every action on this site comes out of. You should know that before you read anything else here, because it is the obvious reason to be sceptical of a site explaining what these tools are good for.

There is no outside investor and no client work behind these pages, which is the reason we can afford to publish the section about what the tools cannot do. Nobody has to be told that the numbers went up this quarter.

Why the site exists

Photo tools all sell the same promise and none of them tell you the one thing that decides the outcome: which photograph you feed them. A picture cropped at the chest cannot dance. A face in heavy shadow cannot act, and it cannot carry a style built out of shadow either. Pick the action the photograph already suggests and the result improves before the model does any work at all.

So this site documents every action in AI Video, the ones that set a photograph moving and the ones that remake it as a new still picture, across every category, one page each, with a straight answer about the kind of picture each one needs. AI Video is ours. That is exactly why the limits are written down: a site that only listed the good parts would be an advert, and adverts do not earn trust.

Where the library comes from

The app reads its action catalogue from a public JSON file rather than shipping it inside the binary, so new actions can appear without an App Store release. This site reads the same file when it builds. One source, two consumers, no second copy to keep in sync.

That is also why the clip length quoted on the motion actions is 5 seconds: it is the duration the catalogue's default video model is configured for, not a round number we liked. The catalogue is where the split between motion actions and photo styles comes from too, which is why no page here can quietly promise a video for a style that returns a picture.

The pictures come down the same way. Each action's preview still is pulled from the catalogue's own image host when the site builds and kept in the repository, so the card you see on a page here and the card the app shows on your phone are the same file rather than two things that agree for now.

What we hold ourselves to

These are the commitments we actually keep. Nothing below claims a lab, a test rig or a sample size we do not have, and every one of them can be checked against a page that already exists, which is the only kind of rule worth printing.

About the app, and what it costs

AI Video is free to download on iPhone and iPad. There is no free trial and no daily allowance of free results. Generating anything, a clip or a restyled picture, spends credits, and credits come either from a credit pack you buy once or from one of the weekly subscriptions, Starter and Pro, which refill a balance on a schedule. That is the whole commercial model, said plainly, because a reader who installs the app expecting a free result has been misled by us rather than by the App Store.

An earlier version of this page implied a free daily allowance that the app has never had in this form. It was wrong, it is corrected here, and it is the reason rule 07 exists at all.

What any of it costs is not written on this site and will not be. The App Store listing and the app itself state the current price in your own currency, and a figure typed onto a web page cannot do either of those things.
